Our Production

We are a fully integrated enterprise, we choose the tomato seeds, grow the plants in our greenhouses and cultivate them on our land. For the production of sun-dried tomatoes we use varieties of industrial tomato with long cylindrical shape Roma type. We choose the best, healthy and whole-red tomatoes, wash them, cut them in half, salt them and spread them to accept the beneficial power of the sun and the cool breeze.

Our ISO 22000:2018 certification for both conventional and organic sun-dried tomatoes guarantees safety and high standards for the final product!

The sun-dried tomatoes we make at Liasto are from selected tomato varieties with high lycopene content, the ingredient responsible for its red color and known for its anti-cancer properties, as well as a high °Brix grade, which is responsible for their sweet taste. Our sun dried tomatoes contain no sulphites, no preservatives or other improvers.  It is a product made only from Greek Earth, Sun, Sea (for salt), and … much “meraki”.

Our Location

The location is of great importance for the result that we want to provide you. Tomatoes are grown on the plain of Kopaida in private land and under our supervision. The whole process of production takes place in Kyrtoni Fthiotida, at an altitude of 600 m, with ideal drying conditions, cool breeze from the Evoikos bay, low temperature of 30 – 35° C and low levels of humidity, as a result the product retains the shiny red color and all the nutritional characteristics of fresh tomato.
